THE POSITION

To ensure that all QHSE activities comply with regulatory, contractual, and operational standards by advising and ensuring policies, systems, processes and controls are in place to continually improve our performance and excel within the framework of these standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Ownership and accountability of the following compliance risks:
o Environment, Health & Safety, Quality & Connected Processes.
• Ensure continued compliance with ISO9001, 14001, 45001 and other accreditations across the business
• Maintain regulatory knowledge, review practices and ensure the business is compliant
• Liaise with and manage professional bodies / consultants / contractors where assistance is required
• Review, update and communicate internal policies effectively
• Identify potential risks through scheduled audits and implement corrective action
• Management of Mpac Lambert BMS, including document review and revision control
• Waste management and monitoring
• Educate and train staff on compliance management and adherence and ensure training records are maintained
• Drive business improvement in QHSE

KEY LINE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the business response in the event of any non-compliance
• Managing customer feedback and customer audits
• Conduct Management Review meetings
• Manage and coach internal audit team
• Engage, enable and empower our compliance culture to ensure everyone is engaged, satisfied and aligned with the vision, mission, value and aims of the business and allow us to develop our skills and contribute towards the continued success of the business. Reinforce and embed our internal customer ethos ensuring all work with Mpac Lambert colleagues is delivered right first time, on time and in full.
• Take full responsibility for the management, motivation and coaching of the compliance culture identifying development needs to ensure we are engaged, satisfied and aligned with the vision, mission, value and aims of the business. This will contribute towards the continued success of the business and to the development of their skills.
• Report at Board level on KPI performance, any budgetary requirements and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that Mpac Lambert facilities are always able to offer the best service to its customers whilst ensuring best value for Mpac Lambert spend.
• Effectively report and communicate all necessary business performance statistics
• Manage and direct various teams such as EHS committees, Fire Wardens, etc.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage all QA, EHS matters hosting assessment visits from parties such as BSI, HSE and ensuring all compliances are carried out. Responsible for ensuring all factory standards are applied and carrying out environmental management audits in relation to matters such as asbestos, waste storage, COSHH etc. This will ensure Mpac Lambert is compliant with EHS legislation and is not restricted in its activities.
• Ensure full compliance by identifying training requirements of employees and raising awareness of individual’s personal responsibility for compliance with the standards.
• Manage compliance with PPE and DSE Regulations and provision measuring the performance of suppliers and contractors and monitoring the performance of equipment in relation to the protection of employees. Liaise with the HR Manager in relation to health surveillance and referrals and ensuring the DSE assessments are carried out. This will ensure that a safe and healthy working environment is provided and maintained.
• Identify & implement any business wide Continuous Improvement Initiatives connected with QHSE
• Conduct and assist with internal & external audits
• Work with and support all departments to ensure effective and efficient processes are in place with quality gates to prevent waste and ensure any waste produced is effectively managed.
• Line management of the Quality Inspection department

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Chartered member of IOSH
• Diploma in Quality Management
• NEBOSH Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health & Safety

THE PERSON

• Experience of working in a similar manufacturing environment at senior level in compliance management
• Thorough knowledge of integrated management systems including ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001
• Knowledge of H&S & Quality Management Systems
• Experience of Culture Change & Virtual Leadership
• NEBOSH
• Lead Auditor Qualification
• Root Cause Analysis Training & the Ability to Implement Robust Preventative Actions
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Presentation and training skills
• Strong organisation skills
